LANDING

I shut my eyes tight
When all i can see is black
I pull out the memories, the feelings
At first i was scared
I didn't understand
I ran, cried,
From across the world away from everything i knew,

I didn't know what i had gotten myself into.

As i emerged back into the heat,
I felt something different inside
As i really opened my eyes, i saw theirs
Hearts crumbled, but wide open all reservations buried
As the sun grew hotter, I started to understand
The family
The companionship
The hope
The support

The feelings i had before were gone,
Evaporated just like my tears as the heat became more intense
I was hooked, i couldn't get enough of their smiles, their laughter
Every minute i wanted to be alongside them
To hold their hands run with them led my imagination
The days rolled by and i fell in love

I knew this was the place i had always dreamed of.

This was the place i always wanted to be.
I learned the importance of love and
The unimportance of the wealthy
I was completely full,
Utterly filled,
I was happy.

DEAD

We lean back and stare at the sky
the enormous sun sinks low as the bats begin to fly
you jump on my back and take me to the room of the dead

you point to your mother as memories start to fill your head
i sit down and close my eyes
i feel your fragile body align with mine.
we silently start to meditate
my mind is clear i feel no fear.
